Childhood Trauma Exposure

Childhood Trauma Exposure National Center for Childhood Poverty Report

The National Center for Childhood Poverty Report explores the effects of trauma on children. The Report estimates that 35 million children living in the United States have been exposed to trauma such as accidental injury, neglect or abuse with the youngest children at especially high risk compared with older children. The IDA-2 takes trauma exposure into account when evaluating developmental delay and behavioral concerns and helps families connect to programs and support services that will incorporate specific trauma-related interventions.
