Help Me Grow

IDA-2 Co-author Susan Vater participated in the Mid-level Developmental Assessment (MLDA) expert panel presentation and talked about IDA as a recommended measure used for children from birth to age 3. Along with the other panel members, Loretta Crowley (Greenville Health Care System), Janet Kilburn (Vermont Department of Public Health), Susan Roman (Connecticut Children’s Medical Center) and Sally Morris (The Riley Institute at Furman), the discussion centered on the Mid-level Developmental Assessment and Care Coordination aimed at identifying children at risk for or with developmental or behavioral concerns and strategies for linking them to recommended supports and services. States with Help Me Grow networks are considering implementation of MLDA (including the IDA) as a key component of child and family services. States already implementing MLDA are Washington, Florida, Connecticut, and Vermont along with San Joaquin and Fresno Counties in California. Stay tuned!
